Terms of Service

These Terms govern access to and use of Research Quality Lab (RQL), including AI-assisted research services, reviewer and journal workflows, Network features, contact discovery, referrals, credits, certificates, subscriptions, and related research-support services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Research Quality Lab (RQL), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you should not use the platform.

2. About RQL

RQL provides AI-assisted academic review, post-publication review, paper quality scoring, proofreading and polishing, translation support, reviewer coordination, certificates, journal workspace tools, public profiles, Network features, contact discovery, credits, notifications, and scholarly collaboration services.

RQL is part of a broader research, publishing, and academic support ecosystem connected with Dwellite Limited and related publishing and academic divisions.

3. No Guarantee of Publication or Acceptance

RQL outputs are informational, educational, and workflow-support tools. They do not guarantee journal acceptance, publication, indexing, citation, funding, academic employment, institutional approval, or external peer-review approval.

Users remain responsible for their research claims, ethics, authorship, submissions, corrections, use of AI outputs, and final decisions.

Important: RQL scores, reviews, certificates, badges, and workflow records should not be presented as formal journal acceptance or independent institutional endorsement unless the applicable RQL feature expressly states otherwise.

4. User Responsibilities

  • You must provide accurate account and payment information.
  • You must keep your login details secure.
  • You must only upload content you own or are authorized to process.
  • You must not upload illegal, infringing, deceptive, harmful, or abusive content.
  • You must not misuse RQL through spam, scraping, unauthorized access, impersonation, or attempts to bypass limits.
  • You must not misrepresent RQL certificates, scores, reviews, badges, or AI outputs as formal journal acceptance or official external endorsement.
  • You are responsible for ensuring that contact files, email addresses, invitations, messages, and other information you submit or select for an RQL workflow may lawfully and appropriately be used for that purpose.

5. AI-Assisted Outputs

AI-assisted review, polish, translation, scoring, and summary outputs may contain errors or omissions. Users should review all outputs carefully before relying on them.

RQL may use AI models and automated tools to provide services, but final responsibility for evaluating and using the result remains with the user.

6. Real Reviewer Board and Human Review Workflow

RQL may allow users to post reviewer requests, volunteer to review, invite reviewers, exchange workflow messages, submit review comments, and track review progress.

  • Reviewer-board access does not guarantee that a reviewer will accept or complete a review.
  • Reviewers are responsible for providing fair, constructive, confidential, and academically responsible comments.
  • Request owners are responsible for deciding how to use reviewer comments.
  • RQL may remove or restrict reviewer-board activity that violates platform rules.

7. Post-Publication Review and Paper Quality Score

Post-Publication Review (PPR) and Paper Quality Score features are designed to provide structured review documentation and quality indicators. Scores may change as new data, reviewer comments, citations, corrections, or workflow signals become available.

Paper Quality Score is not a guarantee of truth, acceptance, citation performance, or external journal quality.

8. Certificates

RQL certificates document selected platform records or completed workflows, such as profile records, review workflow records, reviewer activity, translation support, or other service events.

Certificates do not verify academic degrees, employment, legal identity, journal acceptance, publication guarantee, plagiarism status, or external institutional endorsement unless expressly stated.

Some certificates may be free once per user or workflow. Additional certificates may require credits, subscription access, or payment.

9. Payments, Credits, and Subscriptions

Some RQL features require payment, credits, subscription access, or entitlement approval. Prices and credit costs are shown before checkout or service activation where applicable.

  • Credits may be used to access services, certificates, review workflows, or other paid features.
  • Credits may be transferred, rewarded, or assigned where the platform supports it.
  • Credit balances are platform service balances and are not bank deposits.
  • Payment providers may apply separate terms and processing rules.
  • Subscription features, limits, included credits, and entitlements may depend on the active plan and the information presented at the time of purchase or renewal.

10. Refunds and Service Failures

If you are charged but the service fails to deliver due to a verified technical error, contact support with your receipt, transaction reference, and service details.

Refunds may be limited once AI processing, translation, review workflow generation, certificate creation, or other service work has started or completed. Where appropriate, RQL may provide a rerun, credit return, entitlement correction, or other remedy instead of a cash refund.

11. Journal and Organization Workspaces

Journals, publishers, institutions, and organizations may use RQL workspaces for editorial, reviewer, author, payment, production, and workflow management. Workspace administrators are responsible for configuring their settings, roles, payment instructions, editorial policies, and member permissions.

12. Public Profiles and Ratings

RQL may provide user profiles, badges, ratings, endorsements, reviewer history, Network information, and public activity summaries. Users must not manipulate reputation systems, submit fraudulent endorsements, or misrepresent their roles.

Network & contact discovery

13. Network, Referrals, and Contact Discovery

RQL may provide Network, referral, and contact-discovery features that help users identify people they already know, connect with existing RQL members, or invite relevant external contacts to join RQL.

User-selected invitations

Contact discovery does not authorize indiscriminate or automated bulk messaging. Users are responsible for selecting relevant contacts and ensuring that invitations are appropriate, lawful, and consistent with applicable anti-spam, privacy, and professional-conduct requirements.

  • RQL may limit the number of invitations that can be sent in a single action or within a period of time.
  • RQL may suppress invitations to existing RQL users, duplicate recipients, pending invitees, self-addresses, or addresses that appear automated or unsuitable.
  • RQL may log invitation activity for attribution, workflow continuity, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, and platform security.
  • Referral rewards are not earned merely because an invitation email was sent. Any applicable reward depends on the qualifying activity stated by the relevant RQL referral program.

Google Contacts

Where a user chooses to connect Google Contacts, RQL may use authorized read-only access to display relevant contact names and email addresses for Contact Discovery. RQL does not request permission to create, modify, or delete Google Contacts.

Google Contacts access is optional and may be disconnected by the user. More information about how RQL handles Google user data is provided in the Google Contacts and OAuth Data section of the Privacy Policy.

CSV and vCard imports

Users may also be able to upload CSV or vCard contact files for temporary Contact Discovery. Users are responsible for ensuring that they are authorized to use those contact details for the selected RQL workflow.

14. Account Limits and Enforcement

RQL may apply usage limits, payment gates, document-size limits, upload limits, invitation limits, posting limits, anti-spam checks, and role-based access controls. We may suspend, restrict, or remove accounts or content that violate these Terms or platform rules.

15. Intellectual Property

Users retain responsibility for their uploaded content. By uploading content, you grant RQL the limited permission needed to process, analyze, store, display, and deliver the services you request.

RQL platform design, software, workflows, templates, certificates, scoring systems, and branding remain the property of RQL or its operators unless otherwise stated.

16. Privacy

17. Changes to Service and Terms

RQL may update features, limits, prices, credits, certificates, policies, integrations, or these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
